Thank You

In 2012, 507projex will go into hiatus for an indefinite period of time.

It has been a fun (nearly) three-year run covering Midwest electronic music, bringing you video of events, writing music reviews and general thought pieces on the state of electronic music.  I thank all of you I've met along the way for opening me up further to this world of future music and for the amazing times we've shared. What started out as just a blog to embed videos from shows I shot quickly became an epicenter for music that tickled my fancy and subsequently became a second job. I'll still post fresh music that captivates my soul in 2012, but I'll be spending more time on my own creative endeavors writing fiction.

Again this isn't a final farewell, more of a temporary sign-off as I realign my priorities with my craft.  I urge new producers to continue to submit your tunes, while I may not write a review up, I'll be happy--as always--to post on the Music page.

Like, love, share and retweet...~Glitchard

Big Gigantic - Minneapolis, Fall 2011

Big Gigantic (Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken) performed at the Cabooze in Minneapolis October 21, 2011, and 507projex was there to capture the evening.  As usual, 507 had the live-blogging game in full swing as we posted live shots to Instagram and our Facebook page (embedded now in the slideshow above).  Apologies for the brief video, our camera has not been very cooperative of late but nonetheless we managed to scrape a few clips together for ya (stay tuned for a more lengthy video featuring Minnesota).  Infinite props to Let's Get Digital for  bringing Big G and their cubes back to MPLS!

MartyParty in Minneapolis

Photo Credit: Brittnie Kelly / @purpdino

MartyParty made his debut solo performance in Minneapolis last Friday (Sept. 16th, 2011), almost two years to the day since his last performance in the area (at that time playing with Ooah as PANTyRAID).  In the interim, 507 caught Marty earlier this year at the Double Door in Chicago for the Monsters of Bass tour, where his set had a much stronger emphasis on dubstep.  His recent solo performance in Minneapolis, on the other hand, was a consummate showcase of his purple stylings, while still serving the audience crushing dubstep (as provided in one of his latest tracks, Ice Cream Truck) in true Marty fashion.
