RUSKO EVISCERATES MINNEAPOLIS

When Rusko crushed Minnesota last year (here and here), he turned out one of the largest dubstep performances in the state to date, converting his voluminous amount of high-stakes energy into a mental explosion of dubstepping wobble fest, delivered straight to the massive. His return last Sunday at First Avenue did not disappoint expectations of yet another eviscerating display of subsonic throwdown, and we took the time to catalog the debachery. Ladies and gents, Rusko eviscerates Minneapolis...WOMP.

[...] After Rusko left the stage last Sunday, a UFO of light amplification by simulated emission of radiation (LASER) descended onto Minneapolis and released Major Lazer. Major Lazer is apparently a fictional character, masterfully written by Diplo and Switch who partifully release their protagonist during live performances. Or, something. The lights dimmed beyond the expectations of a dark, rowdy dubtronic fiesta–to the point that a phalanx of lasers, tufts of fog and ladder-diving daggering was essentially all First Avenue could see…that is, if you weren’t too busy getting a cardio workout. That said, ML played enough dubstep tracks to satiate Rusko’s riled up steppers all the while mixing in enough of their signature sound to create a truly Major Lazer performance; a unique spectacle traveling this earth. Footage at times is a bit dark, but the lasers burn through it and well you get the dilly. When I say Major, ya’ll say… [...]
