Mochipet - Spacezilla EP

Mochipet is back this summer with Spacezilla, a seven-track EP containing three brand new smashers and four remixes courtesy of Minnesota, Udachi, Konekta and Fresh Young Minds & Skulltrane.  Spacezilla starts off larger than a brontosaurus with the track, For When the World Ends--a slow-to-build throwdown that percolates into a laser bass frenzy smartly incorporating a dubstep sound design while remaining wholly independent of the trappings of that genre.  The second track, Spacezilla, continues the instantly-a-legend-at-release vein that FWTWE exudes.  The arguably sludgier follow-up stomps through your ears like an alien dinosaur from space high-kicking skyscrapers, much like the title suggests.  Imagined on a club sound system or festival, this track has 507 itching to hear it live, at a maximum volume of 1.21 gigawatts...or at least to 11.  The third original anthem off Spacezilla, Planetary Paleon Pet, keeps the intergalactic dino invasion theme up and expands the sound palette of the EP into future blap realms of which Mochipet is a Jedi master.  The remixes accompanying the three originals are badass in their own right right, perfect gems for any DJ looking to add some freshness to his collection.  Spacezilla is available now on Addictech.com, and 507 is highly recommending that you  pick up this effort--it is a consummate exploration of where electronic music can grow after the dubstep wave finally crashes to shore.  We can't wait.
