Detonating 507projex's coverage of the Riot of Spring Festival--held March 18-20 in Lutsen, Minnesota--is Friends of Friends, the ensemble that launched the three-day dance party on Thursday night. Friends of Friends is a coalition of like-minded jamsters, hailing from various bands in and around Minnesota. Every time they assemble to rock, they achieve higher levels of musicality, amazingness and become stronger behemoths of all night ragefesting. The group is full of variables, from show to show there are different players, so every show is unique onto itself. No matter who is playing or when a Friends of Friends show is, you ought to give them a listen. Here are two videos of the March 18th FoF ensemble, featuring Kevin Dorsey (The Histronic) on the psychedalicakeys, Aaron Peterson aka APAD (Cymatic Rawk Show) on ye Guitar of Melt-Riff, Jimmy Blake spitting game on the tech drums and Geoff Matson masterfully dropping super-funk-bass lines (both of the latter formerly of Ship of Foolz).
